Accommodation is in 2 and 3 bedroom cottages, with kitchenettes, dining area, propane stoves and fireplaces, and a bathroom. Many of the bedrooms have twin beds so numbers can increase. Some cottages are connected by a hallway.
The Haliburton Forest is about 3 hours from Mississauga, and Ottawa and 2.5 from Toronto. There are trails for hiking, lakes to swim and as well a tour of the wolf centre can be arranged. The seminar building is a large building with many windows down two sides. There is room for standing easels and tabletop easels. Lighting is bright except for the very centre of the room.
Cost:2 nights’ accommodation, all meals (dinner Friday to Lunch on Sunday), snacks, welcoming wine and cheese, instructor. Single Room $475 /person Double (2 in room) $425 each

Our 2025 Instructor - Brian Buckrell SCA OSA
Brian will do a Plein Air Demo on Friday mid afternoon and a presentation after dinner called “My Journey Learning to Paint”
Brian Buckrell, a retired Professor of Veterinary Medicine, is a full-time painter specializing in Canadian landscapes using oils and acrylics. He has studied with renowned artists and has won numerous awards for his studio and plein-air paintings. His work has been featured in several magazines and books, and he conducts workshops both in-person and via Zoom. Brian is represented by galleries across Canada and is an elected member of the Federation of Canadian Artists, The Society of Canadian Artists and the Ontario Society of Artists. What to Bring: Unscented toiletries, shampoo, medicines, indoor shoes or slippers, hair blower if needed.
Plastic drop cloths for a table and floor if painting inside.
Your painting gear, easel, supplies, sunscreen, bug repellent if plein air. Odorless mineral spirits if painting in oil (no turpentine). Garbage bags for your own garbage. Please dispose of wastes in a responsible manner.
