The Galilee Centre is less than 1 hour from Ottawa; 1.5 hrs from Barry’s Bay; 2 hours from Kingston.
Each room features a wardrobe, reading desk and a private sink. All bathrooms/showers are shared. No ensuite rooms. The Centre overlooks the Ottawa River, walk to the ‘Grove’ mature pine forest, close to Robert Simpson Park with public bathrooms; 10 min drive to picturesque Pakenham on the Mississippi River and the Blakeney Rapids.
The historic Galilee Centre is a converted lumber baron stone residence and attached dorm. The center is located in the town of Arnprior with shops and boutiques within a 5min walk away. All meals are prepared fresh, in-house and they are able to accommodate most dietary restrictions. Meals are buffet style with an unlimited tea/coffee service and bowl of fresh fruit. There is a fridge where we can store any personal supplies near the Dining Room. There is a large covered, screened in porch and indoor communal activity/gathering room. Galilee is not licensed to serve alcohol. However, a Liquor licence will be obtained and drinks will be provided. There are endless painting opportunities; forest, the Ottawa River, quaint cottages, outbuildings, pretty town, and more by short drive to a stone bridge and waterfalls.

Gord Jones is a watercolour artist residing in the Algonquin Highlands, where he operates his studio, White Pine Studio. He is an elected member of the Canadian Society of Painters in Watercolour (CSPWC) and the Society of Canadian Artists (SCA). Gord believes that design is king—when the design is strong, the watercolour medium allows for maximum impact
through its wide variety of expressive techniques. He enjoys sharing his knowledge through regular online demonstrations and workshops for art groups across Ontario. Pails for dirty water will be provided by ECOAA for acrylic painters.
