Join Us Online
We meet online using Zoom to connect, learn and keep creative. ArtShare zoom sessions are offered during the winter months and feature an artist, demonstrating their painting style, skill, technique, or art tips. It can be any art related presentation. Members are encouraged to share their art. Please contact Judy Clark at [email protected] if you are interested in making a presentation for the club.
We also host Open Studio Zoom sessions where we come together to chat, paint or just listen to members talking about life, sharing stories and their passion for art. Our Year-End party is held on Zoom as well as our Executive Meetings.
See the Join Us Online page for the schedule and description of presentations and the Member Resources page for the links to the online sessions.
All upcoming Zoom Sessions are announced ahead of time to all members using the email application, Mailchimp. So stay tuned to your inbox
Paint Outs
Throughout the year members get together at the home or cottage of a volunteer host whose only responsibilities are to supply morning coffee and a place to eat the lunch each participant brings along. Usually the host scouts the area for painting sites. These paint outs (or ins) usually are from 10 am to 4pm but is sometimes extended to include a potluck dinner.
Exhibitions
Art Exhibitions for our Members
Weekend Workshops -
The ECOAA sponsors two weekend workshops annually, where members get together at a resort in cottage country to paint and enjoy each other’s company. They are usually held mid April and later in October.
At three of the workshops, an artist, usually a member of ECOAA, is invited to do a demonstration on the Friday evening. On Saturday evening there is a critique, followed by a get-together with refreshments. Studio space is available for indoor work and painting plein air is encouraged.
September Workshops -
In September each year, ECOAA joins with our sister club – The Central Ontario Art Association to hold a combined weekend with a choice of one of 3 workshops given by top instructors. A member can also work independently. This is a social weekend, where old friends get together and new friendships are made. Saturday evening consists of a “walkabout” to view the work, followed by a wine and cheese and entertainment.
Annual General Meeting
Our AGM's are held online VIA Zoom for ease of member attendance. major topics and changes are discussed here . All members are encouraged to attend.
Become a Member
Our members include artists at various stages of competence. Many are new painters who are eager to learn, others are fulltime professionals who enjoy interacting with other artists. The membership fee is modest. The rewards are great. Join the ECOAA.
Volunteers Wecome
ECOAA runs smoothly because of the hard work put in by its volunteers. Do you have a special talent or some time to give a helping hand? Any help is appreciated, from taking notes as the secretary to assisting with exhibitions or reporting on news in your area.

- Mystery Of The Park Exhibition and Sale. One of the highlights of the year is the long running Mystery of The Park Exhibition and Sale held each autumn at The Visitors Centre in Algonquin Park.
