A big thank you goes to Doug Mays who gave us a demo of his loose and impressionistic watercolours on ArtShare. People were spellbound as he painted a waterfall known as Chutes Coulonge, near the Quebec border.
 
On the left is his finished picture. 
 
Doug is taking a break for the summer but will resume teaching on zoom in the Fall on Thursday afternoons from 3 pm to 4:30 pm. The sessions cost $15 and include a personal critique of your work. Anyone interested can get in touch with Doug.

  • Join Grant Lounsbury as he explains composition, grid lines, and style while painting this beautiful reference photo he captured on a drive back from Caribou Island on the north shore of Nova Scotia.
  • Grant will also talk about his palette and inspirations of the Group of Seven and the Impressionists.​

  • Bringing structure to March! Join us as Olga Senyk 
  • Olga will be demonstrating and talking about perspective of buildings & landscapes around it, the light source & shadows,  the sight line, vanishing points, measuring angles, proportions,  and how to understand and 'get ‘ two-point perspective.  
  • People often avoid putting buildings in because they are unsure of how to go about drawing them. Olga hopes to make this easier for you.  Make sure to bring a pencil and paper to take notes!
